Recognize The Signs of a Stroke

In the event of a stroke it is imperative that a person get to a hospital within 3 hours.

SMART
S - Ask the person to SMILE.
M - Ask the person to MOVE in a straight line.
A – Ask the person a current event question.
R – Ask the person to RAISE both arms.
T – Ask the person to stick out their TONGUE.

Stroke symptoms include the onset of:
• Numbness or weakness of the face or limbs, especially on one side of the body.
• Partial or complete loss of vision.
• Confusion or trouble speaking or understanding others.
• Loss of balance.
• Dizziness or vertigo.
• Difficulty swallowing.
• Memory issues.
• Severe headache.

If the person has a problem completing any of these, call 911 immediately.

It could save a life.
